The twenty-sixth edition of the international Festival Time in Jazz
will be held from August 8, to August 16 in Berchidda and other towns in northern Sardinia.
Among the list of performers are Joshua Redman, Django Bates,
Jaques Morelenbaum, Ludovico Einaudi, Medeski Martin & Wood.
August 17 and 18 the music continues with the seventh edition of Time in Sassari.

The international Music Festival "Time in Jazz" will return on schedule this summer from August 8 to August 16. Founded in 1988 by Paolo Fresu in his hometown of Berchidda (in the province of Olbia-Tempio). This year will mark the festival’s twenty-sixth edition. Since last year’s festival ended a four year cycle dedicated to the four natural elements: air, water, earth, and fire; this year’s will be fittingly titled: The Fifth Element. "A seemingly fleeting and mysterious theme" that "alludes to religion and philosophy, medicine and psychology, as well as chemistry and astrology offering interesting insights that give us the possibility to ramble around this theme through music and art", as Fresu explains in his presentation notes.
The structure of the festival is the time-honored one we know, it will deliver a week filled with music (not only) to enjoy in different places and contexts. Naturally Berchidda, will remain at the center of the circuit of concerts which this year has stops in twelve different surrounding towns: Ardara, Calangianus, Chiaramonti, Ittireddu, Mores, Ozieri, Pattada, Posada, Sant'Antonio di Gallura, Telti, Tula, Tempio Pausania. Internationally renown musicians such as Joshua Redman, Django Bates, Jaques Morelenbaum, the Medeski Martin & Wood trio, the A Filetta chorus, the italians: Ludovico Einaudi, Petrina, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Mauro Ottolini, Tino Tracanna, the percussionist group Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble, as well as sard performers: Salvatore Maiore, Francesca Corrias, Peo Alfonsi, Funky Jazz Orchestra, the musical group "Bernardo De Muro" from Berchidda and "the" Paolo Fresu.
In addition to concerts, the festival will present the usual array of exhibitions, performances and presentations of the PAV,(the Visual Arts Project) curated by Giannella Demuro and Antonello Fresu, a series of films and documentaries not to be missed, curated by the director Gianfranco Cabiddu, and the now classic series of initiatives to promote environmental awareness organized by Green Jazz.
At the conclusion of this year’s festival, for the seventh year in a row, Time in Jazz will pass the baton to its "extension" in Sassari: August 17-18, the festival "Time in Sassari" will take place. It will also visit Cheremule, Osilo, Siligo e Sorso.
As always, paid tickets are only required for the evening concerts that take place in Piazza del Popolo: all events that take place outside of Piazza del Popolo are free of admission with the exception of the two performances scheduled on August 11 at the Centro Laber: Petrina and The Tino Tracanna Quintet (For both performances the full ticket price is €11 and the reduced price is €9).
For all concerts in Piazza del Popolo the full ticket price is €23, the reduced price is €20 (plus a €2 service fee). The pass for all four evenings included (August 12, 13, 14 and 15) costs €60, the reduced price is €50 (plus a €3 service fee). There are no passes for seats in the stands, for which the full price is €18 and the reduced price is €15.
For the evening of August 15, tickets are buy one get one free: for the price of one floor ticket (full price is €13 and reduced price is €11 plus a €2 service fee) admission will be allowed to Django Bates Beloved, and the Final party with Sousaphonix by Mauro Ottolini and the Funky Jazz Orchestra.
Reduced price tickets are only available to members, students, adults over 65 years old, people with disabilities, and the following cardholders: Carta Giovani, Jazzit Card, soci TCI, and Sconto in Conto.

The cost of the call per minute, excluding VAT, is €0.80 from a landline (connection fee is € 0,10), €1,291 from Tim mobile phone network (conection fee €0,129), €1,05 from Wind mobile phone network and Vodafone (connection fee €0,129).
